About JJ-One

Engineering
as a discipline, not a deliverable.

JJ-One Engineering is a Canadian pipeline practice. We design, document and support pipelines that have to hold pressure, temperature and time — across water, energy and hydrogen service.

Jaspreet Hothi
Founder &
Principal Engineer.

Jaspreet Hothi is the founder and principal engineer of JJ-One Engineering. Over the past two decades he has led the design, construction support and integrity assessment of pipeline systems across Western Canada — from municipal HDPE water mains to high-pressure steel hydrocarbon lines and emerging hydrogen infrastructure.

Trained as a mechanical engineer and licensed with APEGA, John spent the early part of his career inside major Canadian EPCs and operators, where he built a reputation for clean documentation, calm decisions in the field, and an unwillingness to ship a drawing he wouldn’t sign his name to.

He founded JJ-One to keep that standard intact at a smaller scale — a practice where senior engineers stay on the project from concept through commissioning, and where every line we draw is a line we’d be comfortable standing next to in a trench.

“We design pipelines for service lives measured in decades — not warranty periods.”

01 · Background

A Canadian practice, grounded in the field.

JJ-One Engineering was founded in Canada to deliver pipeline projects the way operators remember them being delivered — by senior engineers, with clean documentation, and accountability that doesn’t end at handover.

We work across the country on water, energy and emerging hydrogen infrastructure, partnering with owners, EPCs and municipalities who value engineering judgement over volume.

02 · Capabilities

Four disciplines, one accountable team.

Pipeline design, materials and welding, integrity and repair, and hydrogen-service engineering — kept under one roof so trade-offs get resolved in conversation, not in change orders.

We are equally comfortable on a NPS 30 HDPE water main and a NPS 12 hydrogen line. The methods change. The discipline does not.

03 · Profession

P.Eng-led. Code-driven. Quietly relentless.

Every drawing leaves the studio with a Professional Engineer behind it. We work to CSA Z662, ASME B31.4, B31.8 and B31.12, and the owner specifications layered on top.

Our review culture is intentionally heavy. Better to argue at the desk than discover at the trench.

04 · Vision

Pipelines that outlast their drawings.

We design for service lives measured in decades, not warranty periods. The lines we engineer today will move water, gas and hydrogen long after the projects that built them are forgotten.

That ambition shapes every choice — material, joint, support, coating, control. It’s a long view, but pipelines reward it.
